New to BRBC?

What to expect

The first things you will receive as you walk through the doors will be a warm welcome and a copy of our 'Bulletin' with news of what is going on during the week and other news.  Please ask if you need directions either to the ground floor or balcony of the church, where you will find comfortable seating in a modern building with a congregation of up to 300 in the mornings (100 in the evenings), with all ages represented.

Sunday morning services start at 10:30am and evening services are at 6:30pm.  The Communion service is included twice a month on the first Sunday evening of the month and the third Sunday morning.  Sunday services normally last 60-75 minutes, but may be up to 90 minutes when Communion is included.

Our worship includes traditional hymns and modern songs led by our music group who play a variety of musical instruments.  In the morning service a small group helps to lead the singing.

The sermon is normally based on a Bible passage or Christian theme, with applications to our everyday lives as Christians in the modern world.  It normally lasts between 20 and 30 minutes.

Young people and Children

The first 20 minutes or so of the morning service is geared to children and families. When indicated by the leader, the children and young people will leave the main service and go to their individual groups elsewhere in the building,  where a range of children’s activities are provided for youngsters aged 0-16. There is a crèche for the very youngest children (0 - 2½) as well as a family room where parents can take children at any time to view the worship through the window, and listen to the service via a loudspeaker in the room.

Prayers and Bible reading

Services always include Bible readings (projected on screens) and prayers for the world.  Additionally if you would like prayer after the service for yourself, your family or friends, members of the Prayer Team are available to listen and to pray with you in complete confidence. Please join them in the Baptistry area (to the right of the platform at the front of the church).  Alternative arrangements are made when the Baptistry is in use!!

Collection / Offering

An offering is taken at each service, enabling regular worshippers an opportunity to give money in gratitude to God towards the finances of the local church and its worldwide mission activity.  It is not necessary to make a contribution if you do not wish to do so and many regular worshippers give in other ways such as regular bank standing orders, so there is no embarrassment in passing the collecting bag to the next person without making a contribution.

After the Service

Refreshments are served after the morning service in the Main Hall.  There is also a Welcome Desk just opposite Reception where you can find out more about the church and activities during the week.  Do pay it a visit and make yourself known.

Whether you are thinking of trying church for the first time, coming back after taking some time out, or looking for a new church to attend, we would be delighted to see you at BRBC!
