Sunday morning services start at 10:30am and evening services are at 6:30pm. The Communion service is included twice a month on the first Sunday evening of the month and the third Sunday morning. Sunday services normally last 60-75 minutes, but may be up to 90 minutes when Communion is included.
What to expect
As you walk through the doors you will receive a warm welcome and a copy of our 'Bulletin'. Please ask if you need directions either to the ground floor or balcony of the church. There you will find comfortable seating in a modern building with a congregation of about 200 in the mornings (50 in the evenings), with all ages represented.
Our worship includes traditional hymns and modern songs led by our worship group. Our prayer is that people will experience life-changing encounters with God as they worship with us.
The sermon is normally based on a Bible passage or Christian theme, with applications to our everyday lives as Christians in the modern world. It normally lasts between 20 and 30 minutes.
Young people and Children
The start of the morning service has family-friendly worship. After about 20 minutes children and young people (up to 18 years old) have the opportunity to go to age related groups elsewhere in the building. A crèche is available throughout the service for the very youngest children (0 - 2½). A family room is available, in the church, where parents can take children at any time. The service can be followed through a viewing window and a speaker system.
Prayers and Bible reading
Services always include Bible readings (projected on screens) and prayers for the world. Additionally if you would like prayer after the service for yourself, your family or friends, members of the Prayer Team are available to listen and to pray with you in complete confidence. Please join them in the 'Prayer Place' (to the right of the platform at the front of the church). There is a box for written prayer requests in the chapel.
Collection / Offering
An offering is taken at each service, which supports the finances of the local church and its worldwide mission activity. Don't feel under any obligation to contribute to this. Many regular worshippers give in other ways such as regular bank standing orders, so there is no embarrassment in just passing the collecting bag to the next person.
After the Service
Refreshments are served after the morning service in the Main Hall and at the back of the main church. There is also a Welcome Desk just opposite Reception where you can find out more about the church and activities during the week. Do pay it a visit and make yourself known. Whether you are thinking of trying church for the first time, coming back after taking some time out, or looking for a new church to attend, we would be delighted to see you at BRBC!
Pay us a visit
Why not come along one Sunday to one of our services and see what goes on? Mums and Dads with new babies are always very welcome at our Parents and Toddlers group which meets at the church on Wednesday afternoons.
