A Prayerful People

We are told that we should pray all the time (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and there are lots of other prayer opportunities: people pray in house groups, in prayer triplets, at the occasional prayer morning, alone with God or when they get together. Prayer is not something we do at set times in specific places; it's all part of our ongoing relationship with God. As a church we do have a focus on prayer at the following times:

After Service Prayer Ministry

After every morning and evening service two members of the Prayer Team go to the 'Prayer Place' (to the right of the platform at the front of the church). They are available to listen in complete confidence to people who have a concern about themselves or their family or friends and to pray with them. A box is located in the Chapel for written requests.

Midweek Prayer Meeting

This occurs once a month on the second Wednesday at 8:00pm and is an opportunity to pray for the world, for the town, for the church and for individuals. The meetings are led by a variety of people and take a range of formats. Some evenings are themed and might cover mission, an area of church life, or the church’s work in the local community. There may be a time of open and/or silent prayer for a wide range of concerns as guided by those attending. We normally meet in the chapel and everyone is welcome, but we are currently meeting online and you can get the link to join us here.

Mission Prayer Breakfast

This is held at 8:45am in the Main Hall on the third Sunday of each month, before the morning service.  After a buffet breakfast, news is shared and prayer offered for mission activities in which the church is involved locally, nationally and around the world, involving both specific individuals and organisations supported by the church.
