Giving to the church

Giving is part of our call to follow Jesus. God has been and continues to be so generous to us.  Part of our response involves giving money to His work and, if you are involved in Brighton Road Baptist Church, then we ask you to consider giving financially to the church.  As a church, we continue to be grateful for those who, even in these difficult financial times, give regularly and sacrificially to support the work of God in this place.

As a Baptist church we are financially independent and we fund our ministry and mission - including the support we give to others - through the money which we give to the church.  We claim money back from HMRC (see below) linked to what people give us, but our only other source of income is the money we receive from renting rooms in the church building.

The amount that you and your family give is between you and God (plus one or two members of our finance team who need to know the details to manage our book-keeping).  It will be different for every individual and family. Be generous but give what you can, not what you cannot. No amount is too small. God will bless your offering and he will bless you!

You can give …

  • THROUGH YOUR BANK – we would encourage you to give by Standing Order if possible.  Not only does this provide us with a regular income, it helps the church to plan ahead and set budgets. You can set this up directly with your bank and the details you need are:

Sort Code 40-24-33 (HSBC, Horsham)
Account Number 01769707
Account Name:  Brighton Road Baptist Church

Please use your name as the reference so we can identify the gift as coming from you for Gift Aid purposes (see below).

  • BY CASH OR CHEQUE – you can make donations through the offerings we take at each of our Sunday services.  (We can increase the value of your gifts through Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer. Please sign a Gift Aid form, and then give by cheque or put your cash donation in an envelope with your name on it).  Please make cheques payable to Brighton Road Baptist Church.

  • ONLINE - click here and complete our on-line giving form

If you are a member or attend the church regularly, and pay UK income tax, please use the Gift Aid Scheme. As a registered charity we can recover basic rate income tax paid by donors on the amount given; this adds up to tens of thousands of pounds for the church each year.  Donors who pay 40% tax can also reclaim a further 25% of their Gift Aid donation on their tax return.  Gift Aid represents a significant benefit to the church and costs you nothing more!  We will do all the administration, please contact Carole Sheldon for further details.

However you choose to give, thank you so much for your love and generosity!

There are two other ways you can help Brighton Road Baptist Church financially:

  • You can nominate Brighton Road Baptist Church to make a donation from any tax repayment you receive (yes, some do exist!).

  • And finally, if you are thinking of making a will or changing your will, please consider making a legacy gift to Brighton Road Baptist Church.
