On Sunday, 18th May at 9.15am in the Main Hall, there will be an opportunity to hear recent news of the overseas mission workers we support, and to pray for them. All are welcome to come.
The Oasis Crisis Pregnancy Centre’s Open Afternoon
The Oasis Crisis Pregnancy Centre in Horsham will be holding an Open Afternoon on Saturday 31st May from 3-5pm at the Drill Hall, Denne Road, Horsham RH12 1JF. All are welcome for tea & cake and to find out more about their services and how you could get involved.
Newcomers’ BBQ
Anyone new to Brighton Road within the last year is invited to attend the Newcomers’ BBQ to be held at 12.30pm on June 22nd at “’Little Domesday, Hammerpond Road. Flyers giving more information are available at Reception.
For the Beauty of the Earth - Flower Festival at St. Mary's Church
‘For the Beauty of the Earth - Flower Festival’ at St. Mary's Church Horsham will take place from Thursday 19th to Saturday 21st June 10am to 5pm and Sunday 22nd June 12pm to 4pm. Flower arrangers from Churches and local organisations from across Horsham will be providing the displays.
Why not book in for a Vintage Afternoon Tea when you visit the Flower Festival – £20 per person.
Free entry with donations towards the Parish Fabric Fund. 10% of the money raised will go to Horsham Matters.
Date for the Diary
The Horsham Churches Together summer Prayer & Praise in the Park will be on 22nd June at 5pm in the Human Nature Garden, Horsham Park. It will be an evening of worship to Jesus and prayer for our community.
Life Issues Sessions
We have been invited to attend a session entitled 'Pastoral Care In Challenging Times' at Godalming Baptist Church on Saturday 14th June 9.30am-1.00pm (coffee from 9.00am). It will be led by Andy Peck, a freelance speaker who has led some great sessions at Waverley Abbey in the past years. It promises to be a very worthwhile morning and is open to everyone and the morning will have a faith perspective. Andy will look at topics such as 'What is pastoral care according to the Bible? Also Doctor Martin Brunet is leading a series of free evenings on 6 consecutive Wednesdays beginning on Wednesday 11th June - 'Making Sense of Worry and Burnout' at Guildford Baptist Church. There is no charge and folk can choose to attend individual sessions or all.
Appointment of new Chief Executive at Horsham Matters
The Board of Horsham Matters are delighted to announce that they have now appointed Kelvin Glen as the new, permanent CEO of Horsham Matters, with full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and operation of the organisation. Kelvin will commence his new role on 16th July 2025 and will report to the Board of Trustees. He brings over 20 years’ extensive experience across the charity, corporate social responsibility and social impact sectors which includes developing and executing fundraising strategies to drive growth, securing partnerships and empowering communities.
Kelvin says: “As a local resident I am a passionate supporter of the work done by Horsham Matters. I am hugely excited about taking on this new role and look forward to doing all I can to further the work of this fabulous charity.”
Linda Emery, Chair of Trustees adds: “The Board were very impressed with the breadth of Kelvin’s experience and his leadership ability. We are confident that he will be a great leader for Horsham Matters as it continues to grow.”
